About the project
Host organisation: PYLON ONE (Thessaloniki, Greece)
Project framework: VIBES — Visionary Initiatives for a Balanced & Eco-conscious Society for Youth (Activity 3: VibeElevate; Project No. 2024-1-EL02-KA151-YOU-000230819).
Main aim: equip youth workers with up-to-date competences, tools and networks to support young people’s participation in the European labour market under fair conditions and with equal opportunities.
The course combined non-formal education, peer learning and practical labs: leadership & mission building, advocacy & storytelling, evaluation in youth work, and scaling successful initiatives. It also created space for cross-border collaboration and inclusion of participants with fewer opportunities.
Programme — highlights
- Leadership & self-awareness: values, identity and long-term vision as a changemaker.
- Policy & systems: youth policies at local/EU level and how youth workers engage with influence.
- Advocacy & storytelling: developing campaigns and compelling narratives for youth issues.
- Evaluation in youth work: methods to evidence outcomes at personal & community level.
- Scaling what works: models for adapting/replicating successful initiatives across contexts.
- Facilitation & mentorship: techniques to support peers and build capacity in organisations.
- Closure: group reflection, recognition of learning with Youthpass, celebration.
What participants learned
- How to analyse labour-market trends relevant for young people and design responses.
- Using non-formal education methods to engage diverse youth, incl. those with fewer opportunities.
- Practical advocacy & campaign planning skills for fair jobs and rights at work.
- Monitoring & evaluation tools to evidence impact in youth work.
- Facilitation, mentorship and network-building across countries.
