About the Project
The “Coding for Change – Social Hackathon” is organized under the Erasmus+ KA151-YOU accreditation, granted to New Europe Foundation (NEF). This youth exchange promotes the development of digital skills, innovative thinking, and active civic engagement through technology.
The digital transformation is one of the key priorities of the European Union. It provides young people with access to new job markets, enhances their competitiveness, and strengthens civic participation. Supporting digital competencies and equal opportunities in accessing new technologies is crucial for building a strong, innovative, and sustainable Europe.
Who Can Join?
🔹 The exchange is open to young people aged 18-30 who want to develop their skills in technology and digital solutions for social change.
🔹 The project promotes gender balance, with half of the participants being women and half men. Ensuring equal access to digital competencies is essential for creating a diverse and fair labor market in Europe.
🔹 No prior programming experience is required – just motivation to learn and collaborate on innovative solutions.
Objectives of the Exchange
The project aims to equip participants with digital skills that will help them navigate the modern job market and use technology to address social challenges.
Main Activities
💻 Coding Workshops – introduction to HTML, CSS, and Python to create websites and applications.
🌍 Social Hackathon – international teams working on digital projects supporting local communities.
🤝 IT Mentoring – meetings with tech industry experts sharing knowledge and supporting project development.
🛠 Project Testing & Presentation – participants will present their work, receive feedback, and plan further improvements.
Expected Outcomes
✅ Participants will gain coding skills and experience working in tech teams.
✅ They will develop simple applications or websites to support local communities.
✅ Young people will learn how to use technology for solving social issues.
✅ The exchange will foster international cooperation and knowledge sharing.
✅ The project will help reduce gender disparities in digital skills, promoting inclusion and equality across Europe.

The project is 100% funded by the Erasmus+ program and includes:
